Im Koselbruch

Obwohl ich ein zahnspangetragender Bücherwurm war, ist mir als Kind nie ein Buch von Otfried Preußler untergekommen. Jetzt trage ich "Krabat" mit mir herum, das ich in einem der vielen Bücherregale hier auf dem Hof gefunden habe, und ich muss sagen, wow, ich finde es überwältigend gut. Die Geschichte ist die Nacherzählung einer sorbischen Volkssage, das düstere Szenario der Mühle im Koselbruch, in der zwölf Mühlknappen in der Schwarzen Kunst unterrichtet werden, fesselt mich vollkommen. Solltet Ihr "Krabat" bisher auch nicht auf dem Zeiger gehabt haben, möchte ich es Euch wärmstens ans Herz legen.

Although I was a bookworm with braces as a child, I never read a book by Ottfried Preußler, who's a very well known German children's book author. Today I found "The Satanic Mill" by Preußler in one of the many bookshelves of our old farmhouse and wow, the book is stunning.
It's the renarration of a Sorbian tale that dates back to the 17th century. I am completely captivated by the dark story about a miller who teaches his twelf apprentices the secrets of Black Magic. Try to catch a copy of "The Satanic Mill", I warmly recommend this book.
