Durch das Blog der wunderbaren Carson Ellis bin ich auf dieses Juwel aufmerksam geworden.
"Die große Reise des kleinen Mouk" heißt das knallbunte Kinderbuch des Franzosen Marc Boutavant. Der Protagonist ist ein Bär, der sich aufmacht, die Welt zu erkunden. Ob Hotels aus Eis in Lappland, Felsmalereien in der Sahara, Elefantenvogel-Eier in Madagaskar, Riesen-Flughunde in Indien, schwimmende Inseln aus Schilf in Peru: gemeinsam mit Mouk kann man auf jeder Seite viel entdecken. Die Illustrationen sind erfüllt von unglaublicher Liebe zum Detail und köstlichem Humor. Wer so viel geballte Niedlichkeit aushält und wen das Getümmel in den Büchern von Richard Scarry schon immer fasziniert hat, der sollte sich "Die große Reise des kleinen Mouk" sofort besorgen. Erschienen ist das Buch im Hanser-Verlag.

"Around The World With Mouk" is a children's book by French illustrator Marc Boutavant. The protagonist is a bear and he is going, well, on a trip around the world. Ice hotels in Lapland, rock paintings in the middle of the Sahara Desert, eggs of elephant birds in Madagascar, giant fruit bats in India, swimming reed islands in Peru: there's so much to discover on every page. The illustrations are filled with a lot of love in the details and great humor. If you can bear the huge amount of cuteness and if you used to be fascinated by the turmoil in the books of Richard Scarry, you should get "Around The World With Mouk" right away. The book is published by Chronicle Books.

House in a tree

Dieser lange, weiße Winter ist einer der schönsten, die ich je erlebt habe. Ich kann nicht genug kriegen von stillen Flocken in der Nacht, weißgekleideten Bäumen und gefrorenen Worten.
Zu einem vernünftigen Winter gehört für mich aber auch die Vorstellung, der Traum vom nächsten Sommer. Und den nächsten Sommer möchte ich in einem Baumhaus verbringen.

This long, white winter is one of the most beautiful I've ever known. I can't get enough of quiet snowflakes at night, trees that are dressed in white and frozen words.
For me, the dream of the upcoming summer belongs to a real winter like all of these things. And I want to spent the next summer in a tree house.
